This drawing was a real privilege to render because I am a big fan of all of the characters John Wayne portrayed. When I was given this photo by my father I knew I had to create a graphite rendition. Matter of fact I created two, the first was for my father and the second was to be sold. I truly enjoyed making the leather vest appear like real leather and its contrast to the silk handkerchief. For me this is my favorite subject because it is simplistically complicated.
This is an original drawing by Jeremy Allen. All pieces are done on acid free, medium-weight (70 lb.) drawing paper and finished with Sanford Prismacolor fixative spray to protect against UV light and smudging.
Drawing is 14 inches wide by 17 inches height and have a 1 inch hand drawn boarder.
