San Juan Island by Jeremy Allen
Lime Kiln Lighthouse on San Juan Island
Drawing this lighthouse was such a joy. I truly felt I was sitting on the beach while creating this piece. As a notice to the Oregon Coast, I have a special place in my heart for any lighthouse. There are so many uplifting symbolism of the humble structures that it's hard not to love them. The part I loved most about this piece ironically wasn't the lighthouse but the driftwood. The wood felt so perfect as their shapes seemed to flow from my mind into the pencil and out on to the paper. Overall, the colors felt so calming and peaceful. I could almost feel the breeze on my face and smell the ocean.
